Industrial water treatment: Towards a decentralized treatment model

This article presents Coldep's vacuum flotation technology as an innovative solution for the treatment of industrial water, in accordance with European regulations.

For several years, the European Union has been strengthening water protection regulations, in particular through the Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC), which imposes high standards for the reduction of pollutants. In response to these requirements, industrial companies are encouraged to adopt treatment solutions adapted to each site, promoting treatment decentralized effluents.

Why decentralized water treatment?

The current regulatory trend is to push industries to adopt solutions. On site rather than centralizing treatment. This decentralized model makes it possible to adapt processes to the specificities of the effluents of each site, ensuring greater efficiency in reducing suspended matter (MES), organic matter (COD) and nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus) and nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus).

Vacuum flotation technology: an innovative response

To meet these needs, Coldep has developed a vacuum flotation technology patented, which stands out for its performance, simplicity and robustness. This method uses microbubbles injected into a column under vacuum to extract pollutants from the water, without using chemical additives in large quantities. Compared to traditional technologies such as dissolved air flotation (DAF) or membrane filters, vacuum flotation has several advantages:

  • Energy efficiency : Operation with low energy consumption, crucial for reducing operational costs.
  • Adaptability : The technology can be used to complement or replace other processes, depending on the specific needs of each industrial site.
  • Reduced environmental impact : Physical treatment without additives, with simplified sludge management and a limited ecological footprint.

A solution in line with European requirements

Faced with increasingly stringent legislation, such as the recent directives on priority substances And the emerging micropollutants, industries must adapt quickly to limit polluting discharges into aquatic environments. Coldep, with its vacuum flotation process, offers an effective and environmentally friendly solution, perfectly aligned with the objectives of European water policy.

Whether you are a company in the food, chemical or any other sector requiring advanced effluent treatment, Coldep can help you meet regulatory challenges while optimizing your operating costs.

The future of industrial wastewater treatment?

It is based on decentralized solutions, specific to each site, and capable of adapting to increasing environmental requirements. Thanks to his vacuum flotation technology, Coldep offers an adapted response to these new challenges, while promoting a sustainable effluent management model.
