Participation in the European R&D project CIRCA

Coldep is deploying a VAL AQUA in Barcelona as part of the CIRCA project, a major advance in bioremediation and CO₂ capture via microalgae.

🌱 Innovating means broadening your horizons: Coldep takes a new step forward with the CIRCA project in Barcelona

Chez Coldep, we are convinced that innovating means daring to leave your field of expertise.
Historically rooted in the fields of Aquaculture And of industrial water treatment, our team is now exploring new ways where our technology VAL can provide concrete answers to tomorrow's environmental challenges.

.

🔬 Ambitious R&D at the service of the environment

Despite our size, we dedicate a important part of our research and development resources.
Our current work focuses on several key areas:

  • Extraction and concentration of PFAS,
  • Treatment of micropollutants,
  • Reuse of treated wastewater (REUT),
  • and more recently, the bioremediation by microalgae.

So many themes that respond to growing challenges of depollution, resource sobriety and carbon neutrality.

.

🌍 A major step taken in the CIRCA project (Barcelona)

Last week, a new step was taken as part of the CIRCA European project, conducted in Spain at barcelona.
With the support of our partner Algemy, we have finalized the installation and commissioning of a VAL AQUA dedicated to cultivation and extraction of microalgae.

This system aims to demonstrate the role of microalgae in the capture of CO₂ and to explore their potential in approaches to circular bioremediation.

This collaboration perfectly illustrates the capacity of the process. VAL to adapt to varied contexts, beyond water treatment, and to become a transversal innovation tool between industry, research and the environment.

.

🤝 A collective and international project

This project would not have been possible without the close collaboration between several committed partners:

  • #CESAM
  • Universidad Europea
  • Algemy Ingredients
  • Groots

.

The whole team Coldep warmly thanks its partners for their involvement and trust.
We will soon be sharing the results and key data of this experiment, in particular on CO₂ capture performances And the possible industrial applications.
